How migration shapes an intercultural city like Montreal - Canada. What is the importance of migration currents in the cultural development of Montreal - Canada
.

Introduction.
To be able to talk about migration we must know what are the main causes that make a city become multicultural, usually have political, cultural, socioeconomic, family causes and at other times widespread catastrophes but aside from those mentioned in Montreal-Canada has one of the most positive migration policies in the world because the Canadian government admits more than three hundred thousand people every year. In terms of quality of life, many organizations have chosen the city of Montreal as one of the best places to live in the world.

Just as migration has positive things, it should be mentioned that it is accompanied by other phenomena such as insecurity, poverty, social inequality and education, all of them represent adverse scenarios for social well-being.

After this introduction in this op-ed article we will learn the perspective of the different migratory flows that have been experienced in the culture and history of the city of Montreal in Canada in recent years

Development.
According to Expat.com in its text on the Latino community in Canada, the vast majority of Latin Americans reside in Ontario with more than two hundred and fifty-one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five (251.875), followed by Quebec one hundred and ten thousand five hundred and ninety-five (110.595), and Alberta fifty-six thousand five hundred thirty-five (56.535), there is also a large community in British Columbia. They usually opt for large cities, mainly Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Ottawa and According to the 2016 census, Mexicans make up the largest community (80,585 residents), followed closely by Colombians (70,035). The Salvadoran community is located some distance away (48,075), the Peruvian community (29,620) and the Chilean community (26,705). The Venezuelan community that has grown the most in the last decade is the one that went from 16,005 to only 5 years (a growth of 30%). The number of Argentine residents is 19,425.

In my opinion with regard to the figures presented this shows that countries that have the capacity to have a better quality of life are places desired by Latin Americans, because the countries in which they are born often have poor quality of life in addition to a lot of corruption so they decide to immigrate in order to establish themselves and sometimes carry out their life projects, bearing in mind that these countries are sparsely populated and accept a large number of foreigners, in this particular case Montreal, which is why cultures are beginning to mix, languages and even from there a new number of Canadians who come from families of different cultures, Latino or even Latino parents mixed with Canadians by this trend.

Among the important things in Canada, the languages spoken are only English, which is known to 90% of Canadians and French, which is known to 60% of the population, both have official status. The Constitution of Canada itself recognizes two official languages, English and French, and all constitutional acts are in both languages, and it is interesting that French is spoken in a part of Canada because there was the French colony of Acadia. She ceased to be French, because of the seven-year war, which they fought against Britain, and lost. As there were French settlers, who continued to live there despite the change, the French language subsisting, In relation to this, in a time I would like to go to live in another country, maybe Canada is my first choice because the two languages he handles are very global languages plus it is a country almost native to English and is easier than for example learn Chinese or German, that contain a more complex language for me and that requires further study to learn it.

To make this more interesting, I bring an interview to Javier, He is a civil engineer and Colombian has been living for a while in Montreal, for about 12 years or so, he learned a little from the newspaper in Colombia about the migration programs offered by Canada, especially through the province of Quebec, Together with his wife, they began the process and traveled in 2006.
Javier mentions that to work as a civil engineer it took him about 4 years, while he was able to perfect the language and according to him he must be able to speak French and English to be able to have more options of work or speak to one of the two languages in order to be able to access the labour market the fact that speaking Spanish also helped him to obtain jobs.

What is the difference between Colombia and Canada in terms of the pace of work and remuneration? Javier says that in Canada it is much better pay than in Colombia and the full-time working day in Canada is 40 hours while in Colombia there are 48 hours then you have there in the first place because a gain in time in general is smoother the pace in Canada and better paid.

Because Montreal lives in an unstoppable process of transformation in which it tries to combine the values of a past of splendor and the opportunities of a new time, linked to technology, The cultural industry and tourism also Montreal has affordable housing, the crime rate is low and the supply of public transport is diverse. They are variables that take very much into account entrepreneurs, investors and university students when choosing a city to settle in, for all the above I think it is a destination either to travel or go to live spectacular, I feel that he has many opportunities for all people, with well-paid jobs and above all an excellent quality of life more than Colombia for example.

Finally has over the last few years approximately 22,000 Colombians have immigrated to Montreal, so this city has welcomed Colombians very well, that’s another reason why in my opinion it is a great place to settle, fulfill the dreams and goals that one sets.

Conclusion
According to what I can research and understand, one of the best countries in general is Canada especially for Latino and Colombian immigrants, apart from that, Montreal lives well because it maintains aggressive tax policies to facilitate the establishment of new businesses, so that jobs are higher and these are especially in the technology sector, which of course is what is most important in this century and in addition to giving good quality of life, provides unique experiences because it has awards and recognitions for its sustainable growth and diverse architectural heritage.

In summer life is lived in the street and much of its historical area becomes pedestrian to facilitate the movement of its inhabitants and visitors, a fact that has been valued when placing it in the first places among the best cities in the world for the summer. In the rankings made it is noted that Montreal is one of the best cities for the new generation because it bets on young people, which unfortunately still does not happen in my country Colombia.
